At AARP, we know family caregiving can be a big job. That’s why we’re fighting for more support – and commonsense solutions – to make big responsibilities a little bit easier. Today nearly 85,000 South Dakotans care for older parents, spouses and other loved ones to help them stay at home – where they want to be – and out of costly institutions. This silent army provides more than 79 million hours of unpaid care per year, which is valued are more than $1 billion annually.
