How do I find a provider?

You can find a provider here.

If you know the name of a provider you’re looking for, enter it in the first textbox labeled ‘Search By Name’, and then click ‘Search Listings’.

If you want to find a provider close to your address, either click the icon at the right side of the ‘Address’ textbox (your browser or phone will ask to use your current location), or type in your home address (include city and/or zipcode), and click ‘Search Listings’.  You can then adjust how far away you want to search for providers.

If you are looking for a specific type of care provider, you can click ‘Choose a category…’ and click on a provider type you’re looking for.  Click ‘Search Listings’ to then find providers that match the type you selected.

How can I find my provider?

I don't see my provider listed.

If you cannot find your provider on First Step to Care, you can submit your listing here. You must be registered and logged in to submit your provider.

I can't edit my provider listed on the site.

If you see your provider, but cannot edit it, you must claim the listing first (you must be registered and logged in to claim a listing). Find your provider and visit its individual page. On the right side of the title section, click on the ‘Claim Listing’ link.  Submit any changes that may help verify your employment/ownership status.

When you submit a claim to the provider, First Step to Care must verify your employment/ownership status before providing access to edit the provider. Please bear with us as we verify you. This process can be as short at 10 minutes and as long as a week. You will receive an email when your claim has been verified.

I've claimed my provider, but I can't edit it.

When you submit a claim to the provider, First Step to Care must verify your employment/ownership status before providing access to edit the provider. Please bear with us as we verify you. This process can be as short at 10 minutes and as long as a week. You will receive an email when your claim has been verified.

Once verified, you can view and edit your provider on the My Providers page.

How do I properly edit my provider?

Once your claim has been processed or your submitted provider has been approved, you can edit your provider from the My Providers page.

Click the ‘Edit’ link under your provider to begin editing the provider. Fill in or alter any details that should be changed, and click ‘Save changes’ to save the alterations made on your provider.

How do I add the company logo to my provider's listing?

Note: You must be a Charter Member to add a company logo to a provider.  Please upgrade to a Charter Membership to add a company logo.

When editing a provider from the ‘My Providers’ page, if you are a Charter Member, the optional ‘Logo’ field will appear directly below the ‘Hours of Operation’ field. Select an image from your local computer (the image must be less than 6MB in size, and should be a JPEG, JPG, GIF, or PNG file). Once selected, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the page.

The page will begin uploading your file and will refresh when completed. Your uploaded logo will appear below the ‘Logo’ field and will appear on your updated provider listing page.

How do I add photos to the gallery section of my provider's listing?

Note: You must be a Charter Member to add gallery images to a provider.  Please upgrade to a Charter Membership to add gallery images.

When editing a provider from the ‘My Providers’ page, if you are a Charter Member, the optional ‘Gallery’ field will appear directly below the ‘Logo’ field. Select an image or multiple images from your local computer (images must be less than 6MB in size, and should be a JPEG, JPG, GIF, or PNG file). Once selected, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the page.

The page will begin uploading your images and will refresh when completed. Your uploaded images will appear below the ‘Gallery’ field and will appear on your updated provider listing page.

Keep in mind that the most recently uploaded photo will become the cover image for your provider (the image that shows behind your company name and other information).

I cannot remove the gallery images from my listing. How can I clear the gallery?

A current limitation of our system does not allow users to clear out all gallery images uploaded.  If you wish to have all photos removed from your listing, please contact us, and we’ll remove them manually.

Alternatively, if you just wish to remove a photo (and it happens to be the only image in your gallery), you can upload a new photo (and ‘Save Changes’), and then remove the old photo (followed by ‘Save Changes’ again).

I'm a Charter Member, but I'm okay with the features of a free membership. How do I cancel my subscription?

Our mission at Firststeptocare.com is to provide family members with the means to find a provider they need as easily as possible. We’re sorry to see that you want to downgrade your account, but we’re happy to help you!

In order to downgrade your account, you must log into the PayPal account used to pay. You can manage your subscriptions there and choose to cancel the account/subscription.

If you have any difficulty with canceling or wish to have us cancel your account manually, please contact us.
