When I was in my 20s, people my age who were well-educated and affluent were called “yuppies.” I was not a yuppie, and I despised the term.
That was long ago. Now that I’m 62, I’ve become more aware than ever of age labels that were originally exploited for marketing purposes but now carry stigmatic connotations.
